Women Deserve Better Than Abortion: Asking Men To Step Up

A common phrase in American culture is, “behind every great man, there’s a great woman.”

This phrase has many implication, one of which is that without women, many men would not have been inspired, encouraged, and supported enough to do great things.

For example, Archbishop Fulton Sheen once wrote [1]:

“The level of any civilization is the level of its womanhood. The reason is to be found in the difference between knowing and loving… Since a woman is loved, it follows that the nobler a woman is the nobler man will have to to be deserving of that love. That is why the level of any civilization is always the level of womanhood.”

Given how very important women are in the lives of men, it does not seem to be too much to ask that men try to be as important and helpful in the lives of women.

Because of this, the men of today should be outraged that they have not done more to help women in the areas that they need it most.

Based on numbers reported by the pro-abortion Guttmacher Institute, it is estimated that since 1973 there have now been over 53 million abortions in America alone [2].

A key reason for this is because many of these women are made to feel as if they do not have enough social and financial support to continue through with a pregnancy.

This leads them to make a choice, abortion, that often results in great harm – either physically or psychologically [3].

This is something must be changed, and it is the responsibility of each man to take a stand against abortion.

We owe the women in our lives far better.
